Convincing study finds a direct relationship between the
amount of excess weight and the risk of death from most
cancers. The American
Cancer Society published their extensive study in The New England
Journal of Medicine of April 2003, and revealed the direct connection
between excess weight and obesity to deaths from a wide variety of
cancers such as multiple myeloma, cancer of the ovary, colon,
prostate, cervix, pancreas, kidney, esophagus, rectum, gallbladder and
liver, and even non-Hodgkin's lymphoma. The more the excess
weight, the study found, the higher the probability of dying of one of
the cancers.
